Introducing LIFTED and their alcohol-free protein based Recovery Lager

Introducing LIFTED and their alcohol-free protein based Recovery Lager

Yep, you heard that right. A protein based, alcohol-free beer. We had the same reaction.

About Lifted Brewing

Lifted and their beer was born after a solid workout, where you need the functionality of a protein shake, but have cravings for an ice cold beer.

They focused on creating an alcohol-free beer that benefited your recovery, and also tasted great. They knew it wasn’t going to be easy, but they succeeded.

They’re now turned their focus into presenting it to the fitness world, and we thought we’d give them a hand.

So we give you…Lifted Recovery Lager.

lifted lager

A truly 0.0% beer that also contains 10g of protein, made for athletes who want to recover post workout whilst sipping on a great tasting, alcohol-free beer.

Lifted's blend of hops is a combination of Perle and Hallertau Mittelfruh which makes it a medium-bodied, crisp and refreshing beer with smooth bitterness - our tasters thought it was more like a pale ale than a lager.

Perfect for after (or before if you wish) any sporting activity. Including weight lifting, football, running or on the slopes somewhere. There’s nowhere this beer doesn’t benefit you and ensure you feel refreshed and ready to go the next day.

Lifted are all about no compromise, so as well as getting no hangover, drinking their beer is really good for you, containing only 83 calories. There aren’t many beers you can say that about.

Why Protein?

Protein is an incredibly important nutrient in our diet.

Protein helps repair and build muscle, it also helps your body replenish cells and boosts your energy.

Depending on your fitness goals, everyone should eat a varied amount of protein, but it should be one of the main staples in your diet.

Lifted lager contains 10g, equivalent to many protein bars, 2 eggs or one cup of oats. Aka, a perfect post workout snack!

It also contains 7g of carbs, helping you replenish muscle glycogen that you burned during your workout.

Is non-alcoholic beer isotonic?

Funnily enough, we’ve written a whole blog on this topic. You can check it out here.

The lowdown is yes, it is.

‘Non-alcoholic beer is made of water, carbohydrates, protein and micronutrients and has sugar levels similar to those naturally found in the human body. This means that a non-alcoholic beer has the ability to effectively hydrate your body, as well as aiding recovery. ‘

Aka, being isotonic. With the added protein in Lifted lager, you’re onto a winner.

The benefits of being isotonic are that they refill your body’s nutrient levels quicker and more efficiently than non-isotonic drinks (coffee, wine). Nutrients get lost when you sweat, and isotonic drinks help refill these levels.

They are most effective when you are doing exercise. Many sports drinks such as Lucozade are isotonic, and now you can add Lifted lager and other alcohol-free beers to the list.

So there you go, next time you finish a workout, maybe grab one of our alcohol-free beers to help aid recovery.
